Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our services, approach, and how we can help.

What is Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)?

Applied Behaviour Analysis is an evidence-based approach to understanding and improving behaviour. It focuses on observable, measurable behaviours and uses scientifically validated strategies to create meaningful, lasting change. Berkshire Behaviour Consultancy uses ABA to support children and families in home, school, and community settings.

Who can Berkshire Behaviour Consultancy help?

We support children and their families, as well as schools and the professionals who work with them — parents and carers seeking practical strategies, educators and teaching assistants implementing behaviour plans, and multi-agency teams supporting families with complex needs.

Which areas do you cover?

We provide in-person support across Berkshire and South East England, including Bracknell, Wokingham, Crowthorne, Owlsmoor, Finchampstead, Maidenhead, Windsor, Ascot, Sunningdale, Bagshot, Camberley, Farnborough, Frimley, and Aldershot. If your area isn't listed, please get in touch.

Is the initial consultation free?

Yes. We offer a 15-minute free initial online consultation so you can discuss your situation, ask questions, and understand how we can help before committing to any support. The initial sessions are only available virtually via a video call. Please book on the website via the booking form.

What qualifications does your consultant have?

Services are led by Leticia Costa Tomsik, MSc, a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) and a certified member of the UK Society for Behaviour Analysis (UKBA(cert)), listed on the Professional Standards Authority Accredited Register.

Where do sessions take place?

Support is delivered wherever it is most effective for the child and family — in your home, at school, in community settings, or online. Please note that the free 15-minute sessions are only available virtually via a video call.

What services do you offer?

We offer home-based support, school consultation, family coaching and training, functional behaviour assessment, multi-agency collaboration, and structured skill-building programmes — all tailored to each child's individual needs.

How does the process work?

Our approach follows four stages: assess, plan, implement, and review. We start with a functional behaviour assessment to understand the causes of challenging behaviour, develop an individualised plan, put evidence-based strategies into practice, and review progress to ensure meaningful, lasting outcomes.

How do I get started?

You can book a free initial 15-minute consultation through the website or email leticia@berkshirebehaviourconsultancy.com, and we'll arrange a convenient time to talk about how we can help.
